Advisor - Peer Career Coaches
My leadership experience includes advising a group of undergraduate students, the Peer Career Coaches (PCCs), who I have hired, trained, and supervised as paraprofessional staff in the Career Center. In this role, I lead biweekly group supervision meetings to process challenging student scenarios, conduct role plays, and engage in ongoing skill development. Secretary - North Carolina Association of Multicultural Counseling and Development (NCAMCD)
From 2017-2019 I was the secretary of NCAMCD. I also initiated the new Law and Ethics Sub-Committee under the umbrella of the Advocacy Committee for the NCAMCD division. As Chair, I communicated committee business and updates related to NC legislature and its impact on marginalized and underrepresented communities as well as the counseling profession to the larger Advocacy Committee. |
Reviewer - Journal of American College Health
I serve as a collaborative reviewer for the only scholarly publication devoted entirely to college students' health, the Journal of American College Health. In this role, I provide constructive feedback to manuscript submissions as needed. The JACH is a blind peer review, prize-winning publication that regularly publishes major articles on student behaviors, mental health, and health care policies and includes a section for discussion of controversial issues. MAC Online Representative As the MAC Online Representative for my cohort, I provided leadership in service, advocacy, and professional development. I encouraged and supported my cohort members in their efforts to serve others through volunteer organizations and community engagement.
