My name is Whitney McLaughlin and I am a Board-Certified Counselor and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. I graduated with my Ph.D. in the Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development with a concentration in Counseling and Counselor Education program from North Carolina State University. I earned my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University. I earned my B.A. in Sociology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I enjoy being a counseling practitioner and teaching aspiring counselors how to be culturally competent mental health change agents . My research interests include wellness, integrating neuroscience into counseling practice (neurocounseling), integrated care, clinical outcomes, coping processes, and racial disparities in mental health.
